How to Get Your Wedding Guests Grooving

Posted in Events @ Mar 2nd 2011 5:06pm - By Admin

Weddings are traditionally about gathering your friends and family in celebration of your very special day. Most guests consider the three greatest parts in a wedding are witnessing the ceremony, indulging in food and wine and then hitting the dance floor. However, some guests may feel a little bit awkward dancing in public. We at Central Apartments and Hotel have compiled a few tips on how to keep the dance floor alive while everyone thoroughly enjoys partying with the newly weds.

Our staff at Central Apartments understand how fulfilling it is to see guests take part in all the celebrations in your wedding. Here are few tips that will surely get everyone burning up the dance floor:

Play the Old Standbys

A good way to get your guests to take part on fun dance floor activities is by getting the band or the DJ play a couple of lively old standbys such as Macarena or YMCA. Some wedding guests like yuppies and youngsters at our Melbourne hotels will most likely prefer grooving to sounds with their current mainstream favourites such as the Black Eyed Peas.

Keep the requests coming

Another means to engage your guests to get involve is by letting them control the play list. Place small pieces of paper and pen on their tables and let them write down their song requests that will be played by the band or the DJ.

Go out and multiply

Get the party started by the bride and groom including the wedding entourage by having them all on the dance floor. After a short while, the band or the DJ have to pause the music and then each entourage member will go to the crowd and each taking one person onto the dance floor and will do so repeatedly until all the guest are all grooving along.

Go for the Dance Pros

Nowadays, more wedding couples take dancing lessons as a way of preparation for their momentous first dance. Moreover, you can hire dance instructors in your wedding reception to provide your guests with basic ballroom dance moves and tips. The soon- to-be-spouses residing at our Melbourne apartments and Brisbane apartments will certainly find good professional dance instructors within the city.

Limbo rock

After getting everyone to step up to the dance floor, add some dance floor games for everyone to enjoy. One of the most popular wedding games is the limbo dance. First get some lively music playing then get a pole and see how far your guests would go with the limbo. Also give prizes for the winners and runner ups to encourage everyone to participate in all the fun and excitement.
