For the first time ever, The Australian Winter Festival will be heading its way to the beautiful city of Brisbane following the tremendous success of Sydney and Melbourne. Happening on 9-26 June 2011 at the King George Square, the city will transform into a magnificent winter wonderland complete with winter-themed food served at the exquisite ski hut, ice skating rinks as well as numerous exciting competitions that will give you delightful chills and thrills.
The winter festival will showcase delightful food stands that will be serving some of the most delicious dishes from over 20 winter-loving countries. After working up your appetite, festival goers from our Brisbane hotels can proceed to the marvellous Alpine Ski Hut where they’ll find professional gourmet chefs cook up scrumptious smorgasbord that features entrees like Pearl Barley Soup, Kaiser Goulash for their mains and Apple Strudel for desserts. Festival’s seasonal menu will showcase some of the world’s most delectable winter-themed cuisine. Guests can also laze around the heated terrace while sipping Glühwein or perhaps enjoy the live music and entertainment at the Illuminated Cubic Bar.
Aside from mouth watering foods, the Winter Festival will also feature several amazing programs and events including performances from talented ice skaters in the country. Ice Skating Australia will showcase some of their best professional and amateur skaters with a series of enchantingly brilliant ice skating shows. Guests can also participate in the country’s first Ice Blitz Challenge where contestants will be competing in teams as they take on a challenging action-packed relay race around the ice skating rink.
